Hi babes! Today I’m sharing my 70s makeup looks with you all. This is one of my very favorite eras for makeup, so I’m excited to share some of my favorite products and looks with you!
Ok ok. I was indeed an 80s baby, much like the rest of you I’m sure. However, if I could pick any other decade to be to be alive in, it would definitely be the 70s! The 70s just seemed so ~ vibey ~ if you know what I mean. The fashion staples, the makeup styles, the way people carried themselves… all of it! Everyone just seemed so cool. I always think of like Mila Kunis in That 70s Show. She was an ICON in that show. I mean who are we kidding, she is an icon in every movie she’s in. I just love her.
Anyways, back to why I love 70s makeup looks so much. If ya’ll know me, you know I’m the biggest makeup fanatic! I absolutely love trying out different products and sharing my first impressions with you all. Makeup is especially fun because you can experiment with a huge variety of looks! Throughout the years it has been so fun for me to try out seasonal trends, makeup challenges, and more. I love trying out different era’s of makeup, different brights, different glam looks, natural looks, funky looks, you name it.
When I think of the 70s, I think of all the iconic women thriving during a time where social movements towards freedom and equality where expanding, and women where shifting from being conventionally “traditional” to becoming advent fighters for independence and freedom. Some of these women include but are not limited to: Cher, Twiggy, Debbie Harry, Diana Ross, Jane Birkin, Sharon Tate, Donna Summer, and more.
I honestly love the idea of a 70s disco era and just wanted to bring it to life sans disco (a girl can drew and trust me, in my mind I’m in Saturday Night Fever) The colors are so bold and ahhh the glitter, what a time to be alive. I rocked a bright blue take on the Twiggy eye but you can use any bold color ro try out this look. Or forget the Twiggy eyeliner and just go full bold and glitter. (There are also more subtle 70’s makeup vibes that would work for fall but we’ll attempt those later) It’s a great way to tie in all the colors, and dramatic looks for going out at night. Here, I’ve scoped out some of the best products for accomplishing this look. Below I’m sharing some of my very favorite products as well as some inspiration behind some of these looks. Also, going to attach some photos of some iconic women that I look up to at the bottom when attempting the accomplish the Top 70s Makeup Looks for this Fall!
Hope you loved this iconic look as much as me. Peace, love and granola <3
