Hi my bruchin’ people! Today I’m sharing a special cocktail that I had yet to find a name for until recently. Us girls have our go-to brunch beverage and it’s usually your typical mimosa or bloody mary! Well, you know the men like their whiskey. My husband is a huge Old Fashioned fan and he really takes no shame in ordering it at brunch. I, however think this is a little odd. Surely there is some sort of way we can make this sound like a more “acceptable” drink to have with your breakfast/lunch, right? That’s where The Red Eye Brunch Cocktail: The Brunch Cocktail that will Perk you Right Up was born.
I would be lying if I said I wasn’t totally going to order this with brunch on occasion as well. It’s delicious! I’m definitely not a huge whiskey or bourbon girl, but with the right ingredients mixed in, you could create something really unique and magical. This particular recipe is super easy, but you may have to make a special trip to the store for the ingredients. Trust me, it’s totally worth it. Below I’m sharing all of the ingredients you will need, as well as a step by step on how to make it. Keep reading to see more!

This was probably one of my favorite parts of the entire cocktail. It’s part of the reason that I love bloody mary’s so much too. I LOVE a cocktail that serves also as a great brunch appetizer AKA eating all the goodies on the skewer! We got really fun and creative with this one. I thought to myself, I’ve never seen a skewer with a pancake on it? So this idea for a skewer was born: bacon, orange, and mini pancake. Yup you heard it here folks. A pancake with your breakfast old fashioned. With everything going on in the world, why the heck not? The limit does not exist.
I hope you all enjoyed this fun rendition on a brunch old fashioned! Next time you’re planning on having people over for brunch, I highly recommend whipping this recipe out. Everyone will be stunned and delighted! Especially the men, but the ladies too! Be sure to head to my IG where you can also see my recent video on how we put it all together 🙂 Share this with your boo thang too! I bet on my right arm that he’ll be begging you to make one for him asap! Thanks for reading!
