Healthy Recipe Ideas Using Essential Oils

Hi friends! Today I’m sharing with you Healthy Recipe Ideas Using Essential Oils! If you’re still rocking your New Years Resolution goals, then now is not the time to stop! It’s February first and we’re just getting started with the healthy habits around here. A lot of people don’t know that you can use essential oils for seasoning your food (yes, you heard that correctly). So, I’m super excited to share more with you! Keep reading to see the two delicious healthy recipes we put together.

I’m sharing two of my favorite simple recipes with you that are perfect for continuing your New Years Resolutions. I know it can sometimes be easy to fall off the routine after January, but having these essential oils on hand makes it almost impossible to have any excuses!

One of my personal favorite brands for essential oils is Doterra! I absolutely love their products and they come in handy in almost all aspects of life. I know, believe me, I used to think essential oils only worked for when you were sick or to get rid of germs holistically. You would be shocked how much flavor these spice ingredients add to your recipes! You also technically use way less product considering you only need 1-2 drops to accomplish what maybe a whole tablespoon of the actual ingredient would be from your cabinet! Interesting huh?! I thought so too.

Check out some of my favorite new recipes using essential oils BELOW!

  1. MASON JAR SALAD DRESSING:
  • 1 cup extra virgin olive oil
  • 1/2 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 3 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1-2 cloves minced garlic (optional)
  • 3 drops lemon essential oil
  • 2 drops black pepper essential oil
  • 1 drop (or less) oregano essential oil
  • salt and pepper to taste

HOW TO MAKE:

  • combine all ingredients in a bowl or mason jar with lid, shake or stir
  • store in your fridge!

2. GINGER SHOTS (with Ginger and Tumeric):

  • ginger essential oil
  • Turmeric essential oil
  • fresh ginger juice
  • fresh lemon juice
  • cayenne pepper
  • honey (optional)

HOW TO MAKE:

  • combine equal parts fresh ginger juice and lemon juice
  • add two drops each of ginger and turmeric essential oils per one cup of liquid
  • add one teaspoon of cayenne pepper per one cup of liquid
  • dilute the mixture by doubling it with filtered water (skip this step if you want stronger shots)
  • you can also add about a teaspoon of honey per cup of liquid

I hope you all enjoyed this post and it gave you some inspo to try something know! If not, then hopefully you at least learned something today. I highly recommend checking out all things Doterra when you have a chance! I promise you won’t be disappointed 🙂 We have been using their products for years! I’ll be sharing a video of how I made each of these on my TikTok @whatashleyeats shortly as well.

Thanks for reading! Happy eating!
