This Frosted Flakes Cereal Muffins are not only super tasty served by themselves, but also with seasonal soups and salads! If you’re from the south, you know how much we love our muffins and cornbread. They simply make every meal better! However, I honestly think I prefer these particular muffins alone.
The Frosted Flakes give the muffins flavor while not being too over powering. I also think they would be really good with some sort of home made frosting or dipping cream if you wanted to make it more like a dessert. If serving them plain, I believe they make for the perfect breakfast or mid-day snack! I even had one after my workout today and found that it was quite filling and will most certainly hold me over until dinner!
INGREDIENTS:
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 2 cups Malt-O-Meal Frosted Flakes cereal
- 1 1/4 cups fat-free milk
- 1 egg
- 3 tablespoons vegetable oil
HOW TO MAKE Frosted Flakes Cereal Muffins:
1. In a large bowl, stir together flour, sugar, baking powder and salt
2. Combine Malt-O-Meal Frosted Flakes cereal and milk. Let stand 2 minutes or until cereal softens.
3. Add egg and oil. Mix well.
4. Add flour mixture, stirring until combined.
5. Line muffin pan with cooking spray
6. Portion evenly into muffin-pan cups
3. Bake at 400° F about 20 minutes or until lightly browned. Serve warm!
Serving size: 12 muffins
