Mother’s Day 2020, more like the mother of all Mother’s Days. Listen here dads and children, if there ever was a time to celebrate mothers, this year would be that time. So today I’m going to share with you my favorite ideas for homemade Mothers Day gifts from a child.
The COVID-19 pandemic has allowed us all the time to reevaluate our priorities, to think about what is most important in life and be more engaged in our relationships.
The “new normal” has forced us to find joy in the more simple things in life. “Hallmark holidays” like mothers day seem to resonate more than usual.
However, being quarantined during the pandemic has also pushed us to our limits- physically, emotionally and mentally; requiring parents to wear so many “hats” they are not equipped or qualified to wear.
Our mothers may feel like superheroes to us, especially during this unprecedented time, but they are also human beings, who can only handle so much without feeling exhausted and worn thin.
For moms with children still at home during this pandemic, there is no escape from the blurred roles of mother, educator, provider, referee, etc. With the “safer at home” policy there is literally no where to go to truly escape outside the home- which can make those mothers want their mommies.
So its understandable why this Mother’s Day should be EXTRA special!
With roughly a week to go until mother’s day, there is no need to panic, I have compiled a list of DIY Mother’s Day gift ideas. DIY so you don’t have to worry about whether you ordered a gift on time. Plus, DIY gifts are something to do from home to fill up these long “quarantine” hours while adding an extra dose of thoughtfulness.
