Anyone else feel like they have aged 10 years after wearing heels out for more than an hour? Hi, hello, yes, that is me. You don’t typically think about how much wear and tear we put on our feet throughout the day because it’s simply become natural and normal to us from the time we could first stand! Your feet work hard to support your entire body. But how much do you really know about them? It’s hard to concentrate on anything when your feet hurt. According to Everyday Health, they are actually extremely susceptible to injury. From painful calluses to more serious injuries such as achilles tendinitis, stress fractures, ankle sprains, heel spurs and more; there are many reasons we should make more of an effort to take care of our footsies! With the most common being typical sore feet and foot pain, there are a variety of simpl yet effective solutions to easing this issue.

How to Relieve Sore Feet

  1. Buy Foot Support – My faves are the Dr.Scholls Stylish Step Inserts. There are a variety of options here for almost every casual or fashion shoe you can think of including for casual/fashion sneakers, insoles for everyday flats, invisible cushioning insoles for high heels, soft cushioning insoles for high heels, and discreet insoles for flats and sandals. There are also small but effective inserts that aren’t as heavy duty including heel liners, ball of foot cushions for high heels, gel heel liners, and hidden arch support for flats! They fit discreetly in my sneakers or high heels and provide instant relief. If you have ever spent a few hours attempting to walk in super cute but crazy painful shoes, you’re gonna thank me. I own a couple of Louboutin high heels and although they’re stunning, I can barely walk two steps without crying in pain. I put Stylish Step Inserts into mine and the difference is unreal. Also they weren’t bulky and didn’t affect my ability to fit my foot in the shoe.
  2. Foot Massage– Make your significant other rub those feet or I use a Percussion Massager: I love my TimTam for a modern take on muscle recovery. It can be used on the soles of the feet to help with foot pain and plantar fasciitis! I have the Power Massager Pro but they have so many devices to fit your needs and budget. Bonus is I also use it for sciatic nerve pain and on my muscles after rough workouts.
  3. Topical Pain – Relieving medication such as: Biofreeze Cold Therapy, CBD Foot Cream, Palmer’s Cocoa Butter Formula Foot Magic. This has also helped me tremendously with back pain.
  4. Epsom Salt Bath – (my 3 favorites): The Honest Company Me Moment Soaking Salts, Dr.Teals Pure Epsom Salt, Sky Organics Epsom Salt.
  5. Stretching and Strengthening Exercises – These are seriously crucial if you’re on your feet a lot, a runner, dancer, playing sports, or really just for the everyday life stress we put on our feet.
