Daily Morning Skin Routine For My Mid 30’s

Hi beautiful friends! Today I’m sharing my Daily Morning Skin Routine For My Mid 30’s! It has taken me a long time to establish a morning skin routine that I truly love. It takes trying out different products, and seeing what works best for you! After exploring different options and seeing how my face reacts to each of them, I’ve personally seen GREAT results with these products I’ve incorporated into my regimen. Keep reading to see the products that I swear by lately and WHY!

Ok let’s talk about skin. I’m getting closer and closer to the big 4-0 and on the daily I am getting questions on Instagram about what I do to my skin. Let me start by saying not only do I treat my skin pretty much every day and night but that I also get botox every 6 month (you should typically keep it up every 3 months) and I have recently been getting injectables. I see Nurse Zan at Face It Franklin and she’s really conservative, so I highly recommend her if you’re looking for someone in the Nashville area. Now obviously that’s not my daily skin routine but I want to be upfront with what I have had done. So with that being said, lets get onto the day to day skin routine.

I’m not an expert, simply sharing what I do since so many of you requested this topic. I am not anal about this routine and sometimes I switch up the brands or add in another product so I’m gonna share my personal favorites from trial and error.

Step 1 Cleanser:

I usually go to the gym first thing in the am so when I come home I definitely need to wash my face. I stick with a gentle cleanser and currently am using the Jelly Cleanser by Dime Beauty but sharing some of my fave rotations below. Personally my skin is on the dryer side so I need a cleanser that doesn’t strip my skin of natural oils and leave me more dehydrated than before.

Step 2 Glycolic Pads or Toner:

Toner or Glycolic pads are a necessary step for those who tend to have skin that is on the oily side, or if you are acne-prone. Or if you’re like me and need exfoliated skin on the regular. I personally love the exfoliating pads because they remove my dead skin cells and help resurface my skin, making it smoother and glowy. I use Skin Pharm Clarifying pads every morning before I start my serums and creams and my skin has never looked better. These pads deposit active ingredients in your skin and brighten your skin in addition to tightening pores and helping with breakouts. (Another brand that I’ve tried before is Karee Hays here in Nashville and loved those too)

Step 3 Vitamin C:

Cant forget the next few steps. Y’all are always commenting on my glory skin and these next two products are key. Vitamin C is an antioxidant that protects your skin from sun damage and free radicals while evening skin tone and aiding collagen production the glow we dream of. I use Skin Ceuticals CE Ferulic, Dime Beauty’s Hyper Glow or Mary Matts currently but have loved all of the below.

Step 4 Hyaluronic Acid

They don’t call this the youth serum for nothing. H.A. serums help support the skin’s hyaluronic acid levels and not only hydrate your skin but also helps improve the visible appearance of firmness, smoothness, and facial plumpness. Hyaluronic acid helps replenish and hold cell moisture, leading to hydrated, plump skin and dimities fine lines. I couldn’t live without this product. I drink up my Skin Pharm and Dime Beauty HA.

Step 5 Moisturizer

While the serums hydrate your skin, some of us need a little extra (raises hand) and this is where day cream or moisturizer come to play. Like I said before I have dry skin so sometimes when my skin is really struggling, I need some extra va va voom. I use the ones below on rotation.

Step 6 Eye Cream

This is the number one spot I show aging. I say its because I smile and laugh so much but whatever the case, the wrinkles are there. I use eye cream daily and nightly. What can an eye cream do? It can rejuvenate your under eye skin, even out skin tone, lessen the appearance of dark circles and puffins, protect your under eye, lessen wrinkles and give your under eye a glow. The skin around our eyes is so much more delicate than the rest of our skin so it can also wrinkle much easier. More the reason to nourish it each day 🙂 I use Neocutis and have for years but I also pair it with some of these below.

Step 7 Sunscreen

This is a vital every day step to your routine whether you wear it alone or its in your daily makeup. Using sunscreen is the one of the best and easiest ways to protect your skin from premature aging. Titanium dioxide and zinc oxide team up to reflect and scatter UV rays before they affect your skin, causing burns and damage that contributes uneven pigmentation, fine lines, wrinkles and aging. And lets not forget about preventing skin cancer. I’m mad at my young self for slathering oil and forgoing the sunscreen to be tan, I’ll take pasty any day now over wrinkles and skin cancer. Currently you can find me under the hearted umbrella, giant hat and lathered in sunscreen when the sun is out. Attaching some of my fave mineral sunscreens below.

So there you have it, my daily morning skin routine. I will detail out my nighttime routine within the next week in addition to my favorite masks, tools etc. Hope you enjoyed this post and make sure to check out my IG Reels where I give mini tutorials 🙂 My most recent one was for my morning skincare routine.
