Easter holds a special place in everyone’s heart under different circumstances, and that’s okay. What I’ve learned in this day in age is that – you have to accept everyone for what they believe in. It is a beautiful and miraculous thing that we all come together to celebrate life in different ways on certain days of the year. I mean, how amazing is it the amount of ways different countries and ethnicities honor Christmas? And the New Year? No matter what this special day of existence means to you, it’s a reason to celebrate life. And that is something to be excited about.

Easter for my family and I is celebrating Jesus in all of his glory! But we also take this special time to celebrate the ones around us too. Especially our family. Talk about keeping the magic alive… both of my kids still believe in the Easter Bunny. Shit, sometimes I think I still do too. There is something so magical about keeping this tradition alive in your household. There is a certain type of look that you see in your kids eyes that you never ever want to forget. You want to look at them 20 years from now and remember the magic. You want to always see that magic in their eyes, even if it’s in a different way. What it really comes down to is teaching your kids (and reminding yourself) how important it is to remember the little things in life. One day you’re going to look back and miss the early mornings and that sparkle in their eye on a holiday.

Now, if you really have it figured out, then you’ve learned to integrate this into every day life. You’ve learn to sought out this magic every single day. Spreading the ability to be gracious and kind is really what life and “holidays” are all about. We must remember this and embrace it every chance that we get. There is a reason we look forward to these “times of year” so much.

With all that being said, let’s get into this Super Easy Easter Brunch Cocktail shall we? Yes. I said it. I like to praise the Lord, have Easter brunch with my loved ones, and celebrate in every way that I know how. And this includes a good brunch cocktail. Sorry not sorry,

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 tablespoon boiling water (I use a tea pot)
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • juice of 1 lemon
  • 2 ounces whiskey
  • 4 ounces carrot juice
  • Ice

HOW TO MAKE:

  • To start, I made myself a homemade sweetener which I recommend everyone do if you have the resources! In a small bowl combine honey and boiling water and stir until combined and honey is in liquid form – add to cocktail shaker
  • Add 2oz of Honeysuckle Wildflower Rye
  • Add 2 shots of Organic Carrot Turmeric Juice Blend (I got mine from Trader Joe)
  • Take a whiskey ice cube of any sort, place it in your glass, and swish it around to get the glass moist
  • Shake contents of cocktail shaker for 10 seconds
  • Garnish with a slice of fresh lemon and rosemary
