Margaritas are basically considered a Cinco staple or just a staple in general if you’re my friends and I. So being the marg lover I am, I stumbled upon a skinny strawberry jalapeño recipe years ago that I’ve tweaked since then to my liking. If you love margs and you love spicy, this is your margarita. Also I recently discovered the Blendjet portable blender and it has became my travel companion. It’s perfect for trips to the beach or lake when you are craving a yummy mixed cocktail (or smoothie if you’re trying to be healthy) and it plugs right into the usb to charge. Or you can always charge it before you go which is what I do. Use my code nashville12 to get 12% off 🙂
Skinny Strawberry Jalapeno Margarita
- 3 oz. tequila (I use Tresagaves)
- 2 oz. pulp free orange juice
- 6-8 strawberries (fresh or frozen) plus more for garnish ]2 jalapeño slices diced + more for garnish
- 1 oz. stevia
- juice from approx. 3 limes for about 2 oz.
- coarse sea salt for rim of glasses
OR if you wanna make it super easy you can skip the OJ and strawberries and use Tresagaves Strawberry Margarita mix. You can find it at most major grocery stores.
INSTRUCTIONS:
*SERVING SIZE MAKES 2*
Place strawberries, jalapeño, lime juice, stevia, orange juice, and tequila in blender and blend on high until fully combined.
Take a lime wedge and swirl around the rim of each glass. Dip the glass in sea salt to coat the rim. Add ice to each glass if not frozen margaritas.
Pour margaritas into glass. Use strawberries and jalapeño slices to garnish.
***To make the drinks spicier, leave the seeds in the jalapeño slices. If you want a more mild zip to your drink, take the seeds out.***
