Planning your next Birthday party, themed sleepover, or fun get together? Look no further! I have a theme idea that will have your guests thinking they have entered another world… literally! Today I’m sharing my 10 Fun Galaxy Sleepover Party Ideas with you all.
There are of course are a number of ways that you can spin a Galaxy Sleepover. The one that we threw this day was for my sweet daughter Keatyn’s 9th Birthday! Besides the fact that I cannot get over how old she’s getting, this was truly such a fun party to throw. Keatyn is much different in me that she’s a total tomboy! She likes Barbie and other girly things, but I would say she definitely leans more towards being a tomboy. She despises pink and dresses. She isn’t afraid to have fun and absolutely loves adventure! When it comes to planning parties for the little ones, it’s not always easy. It seems like they change their preferences every couple days. One minute they are Disney obsessed and the next it’s superhero’s, and before you know it your planning a full-blown Galaxy Sleepover!
My sweet girl missed her birthday last year due to Covid and didn’t get to celebrate with friends or family, so I really wanted to make it special for her this year but still keep it pretty small. They had a blast watching movies in their teepees all night with the galaxy scene above them while noshing on all those yummy snacks.
I was honestly super into the idea because it totally brought me back to Space Jam era. I think that Rachel, my sister, and I geeked out and loved it just as much as the kids. There is also nothing better than seeing those big priceless smiles on my girls faces and it didn’t hurt when her friends seemed really impressed too. Always trying to win brownie points with K, especially at this age when everything I do is wrong haha. There are some key elements that made this party truly come together, and I’m sharing them with you below!
10 Fun Galaxy Sleepover Ideas (these are general ideas for a party you can throw wherever you’re located + scroll to the bottom for our specific Nashville vendors):
- Delicious Space Cake: This is crucial especially if you’re throwing a Birthday party. Even if it’s not someones Birthday, this is a super fun and great decorative detail for the center of your table arrangement themed decorations
- Out Of This World Charcuterie Board: DUH. This is a must have. Ours included everything from pop rocks, to cheese puffs, rock candy crystal sticks, color-appropriate chocolate M&M’s, and more. (Although I cannot take credit for this one, I sort of have a thing for creating dessert boards throughout the different holiday’s so I’ll link some other inspiration for you here as well):
- Planet Cookies: These were seriously the cutest stinkin’ thing you guys. They really tied the table arrangement decorations together! Not only did we have the different planets, but also little astronaut space people, rockets, stars, and more.
- Light Up Neon Signs: These are super fun to include all over the place with little phrases
- Galaxy Themed Balloon Arrangements: I absolutely love balloon arrangements because it really can bring any party to the next level! Having a balloon arrangement that goes with your theme is what will make your party statement come to life. Like I said, it was also Keatyn’s Birthday, so this was a great way to incorporate balloons for celebrating her. She of course hates pink so that’s why we went with galaxy instead of regular space.
- Themed Teepee Tents: These are precious whether you’re throwing a sleepover or not! Because ours was a sleepover, we put each girls name on their specific Teepee along with little mattresses, blankets, and pillows for when they went to bed! This way each girl felt like they had their own special fortress when drifting off after their evening spent in space.
- Glow Sticks, Glow Necklaces, & Glow Bracelets: Everyone went crazy over these and they were essential for really making the party come to life. It was super fun when it got dark outside because the girls really felt like they were in the galaxy as they were running around glowing all different colors!
- Party Favor Trays: We had these located at each girls Teepee so when they arrived they would run to their specific station and be greeting with all of their space goodies in a mason jar! Each girl had different bright color goodies at their Teepee so it would add to the colorful theme of the evening.
- Galaxy Themed Pajamas: You can’t throw a Galaxy Themed Party without galaxy space pajamas! Keatyn and Charlie had the cutest two piece PJ set that they got to wear all night long. It was so cute for pictures and another super fun way to get your outfit involved with the theme.
- Galaxy Projector: This was a HUGE part of turning our living room into a literal galaxy. Plus we get to use it on the regular for galaxy bath time, movie nights etc. It’s worth it!
