Skin Medica provided me with these products for review.
Let’s talk skin care. I’m a gal in my 30’s so I have to be diligent at this point. I wasn’t always this way though. Unfortunately I wasn’t always so hardcore about skin care and I’m paying for it now. It takes around 30 years for sun damage to show so I am just now reeping the risks of minimal sunscreen and baking in the sun with oil on. When you’re in your 20’s you think you’re invincible because you for the most part do not show signs of damage yet. It takes years for sun damage to show in your skin and by then the damage is done. In your 30’s your collagen starts to decrease, leading to fine lines around your eyes and mouth.
So what do you do now? Well allow me to shares with you the best skin care routine for your 30’s.
Best Skin Care Routine For Your 30’s:
Sunscreen.
Sunscreen is a MUST y’all! Sunscreen is key for sun damage prevention is so vital to protect your skin. Titanium dioxide and zinc oxide team up to reflect and scatter UV rays before they affect your skin, causing burns and damage that contributes uneven pigmentation, fine lines, wrinkles and aging. I personally love the Skin Medica Total Defense Repair SPF 34 in the tinted version. It is a restorative formula that reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, improving the skin’s texture and evening skin tone. Slightly tinted, this lightweight formula also provides sheer coverage for a smooth, polished complexion. It is the first and only super sunscreen with SOL-IR Advanced Antioxidant Complex to prevent aging due to chronic exposure to harmful Infrared rays.
My other fave for daily use is my Colorscience Sunforgettable Brush-On Sunscreen SPF 30. To further ease your beauty regimen, this makeup brush is self-dispensing and small enough to fit in your purse or gym bag so you can sweep on more water-resistant.
Serum
Serum is so important in my daily routine & since it’s made up of smaller molecules that can penetrate deeper into your skin to infuse the highest concentration of active ingredients. This is perfect for targeting specific skincare concerns like wrinkles and fine lines. I use Skin Medica TNS Essential Serum, which has two active formulas that combine to smooth wrinkles and regenerate skin cells for a more youthful appearance. “The TNS complex is a protein- and amino acid-rich serum to reduce inflammation and the signs of aging. The APS corrective complex is a mixture of anti-aging ingredients, peptides and antioxidants to strengthen sagging skin.” Use this anti-wrinkle serum morning and night after cleansing and toning. It has done wonders for my skin. Ya’ll know I love to experiment with different skin and makeup products so I can give you a fair assessment. I see a difference in my fine lines and the tightness of my skin. I think it’s definitely worth trying to transform your skin.
My other favorite is SkinMedica HA5 Rejuvenating Hydrator and I can’t begin to tell you how it has transformed my skin. I first tried it when I got a bottle at Dr. Biesman’s influencer event last year and fell in love. My dry skin is the perfect subject for this serum. The Rejuvenating hydrator lends five types of hydrators that replenish your skin’s hyaluronic acid. Also it is ideal for all skin types, not just dry skin like mine, because this hydrating serum balances moisture levels to smooth and soften rough texture, lines and wrinkles. The Skin Medica website says that Hyaluronic acid is a natural, “water-loving“ substance found in the skin—acting as your body’s natural hydrator. HA holds in moisture, keeping skin healthy, resilient, and supple. With age, the amount of HA in the skin decreases, diminishing your skin’s ability to remain hydrated. When you hit 40+ your skin has already lost 50% of the hyaluronic acid it had at the age of 20.
Eye Cream
While everyone is different in how they age, my eyes are where I show the most signs of aging. Since it is so delicate, the skin around your eyes deserves a little extra love. Since the muscles in that area are so tiny, it is so more sensitive to issues like discoloration, fine lines, wrinkles and puffiness. The skin around your eye is sthinner so when you mix it with constant muscle action it can lead to signs of aging a lot sooner than the rest of your face. Here are a couple of my favorites:
SkinMedica TNS Eye Repair (formerly TNS Night Eye Repair) is “designed to repair, nourish and protect the delicate skin surrounding the eyes. Its rich texture supplies plumping moisture with hyaluronic acid in order to diminish dehydration lines and increase radiance and brightness. Vitamins A, C and E provide antioxidant protection as they condition the skin and help to lighten dark under eye circles. Peptides and TNS awaken and brighten the eye area, helping to preserve a youthful appearance.”
SkinMedica TNS Illuminating Eye Cream “helps reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles around your eye area. Formulated with anti-aging peptides to promote collagen regrowth, the appearance of dark circle and puffiness lessen for an eye-opening look. Eyes appear more youthful and awake as skin texture is smoother and less sensitive.”
Moisturizer
You’ll wanna choose a moisturizer based on your needs but I personally have dry skin so I am always looking for the most hydration. The SkinMedica Dermal Repair Cream gives you anti-aging but also moisturizes, while replenishing the moisture your skin needs. The benefits are it helps repair sun damaged skin and reduces age spots while giving your skin the antioxidants and vitamins it needs. The repair cream penetrates the surface of your skin with vitamins C and E, while infusing retinol, hyaluronic acid and omega-3 fatty acids to help reverse signs of aging.
Skin care is an investment, I get it but as pricey as it can be to splurge on quality skin products to help nurture my skin, some things are worth investing. I love trying to new products to see what works and what doesn’t. I gave myself two months of trying Skin Medica before giving a fair assessment on it and I for sure am obsessed with the essential serum and hydrator serum along with the repair cream. Try it and see if you like it and let me know your thoughts. I will be posting a detailed best skin care routine for your 30’s for day and night that I use daily when we get back from London to give a more in depth look at my process.
