Ok I jumped on the blazer dress trend train last year and it made me feel like such a boss babe so I’m glad to see this trend have its moment! How do you feel about a blazer dress? I think it’s the perfect blend of masculinity and feminity as a fashion statement and I’m here for it. It truly makes me feel like a boss babe. It just makes you feel completely put together.

The blazer dress is taking the 2019 fashion trend of power suits to the next level and breaking the glass ceiling of fashion, like a only a boss babe would dare. So naturally, in my bossiest babe way, I jumped on the blazer dress bandwagon. Of course, I did it in the babest* boss way possible: sequins! (*No, “babest” is not a word. Yes, I made that term up because that is what boss babes do) Because, why not? Any boss babe will tell you- first impressions are everything, so make a statement. I can almost hear RuPaul or Tyra now, saying “Girl, you fierce!” The best thing about the blazer dress trend is its incredibly versatile. And probably a closet staple you already own. It may be far from office appropriate but this clean silhouette allows much room to cater to your personal taste. The blazer dress allows for style creativity to accentuate YOUR own inner boss babe. The options seem endless ranging from textures to patterns, length to plunging necklines, decorative buttons to belts big or small, neon color pop to the OG classic black. I am going to have to redact the above statement regarding the best thing about this blazer dress trend being so versatile, although it is a huge plus. HOWEVER, the BEST thing about this trend is it legitimizes the excuse to wear NO PANTS! And you will still get service- just don’t forget your shoes.
Speaking of shoes: We can’t forget about shoes, just like the wrong lipstick shade or a bad hairstyle, shoes can make or break an outfit. I went project runway fierce and went with the over the knee boots. It’s rare that you can take a predominantly alpha piece of clothing and turn it into the perfect balance of a feminine–masculine juxtaposition. What better way to compliment your sassy power pose with a powerful statement piece that doesn’t have to show a lot of skin to ooze classy chic.
