MOMMAS, WOULD A VIDEO MONITOR HELP YOU RELAX? || MY OPINION ON THE BEST VIDEO MONITOR OUT THERE
Hi my name is Ashley and I’m the most paranoid mom in the world. Ok maybe not the world but I’m definitely in the running for Nashville. I have had anxiety my entire life but boy let me tell you, that went rampant as soon as I had children. I was hopeful when I became pregnant with my second that it would subside a bit since I was told it’s different with your second. It has, but honestly I still get a little crazy with my kids. My best friend would make fun of me because I would sit with the video monitor when Keatyn went to bed and just stare. Now with Charlie, I have gotten to the point where I don’t even keep it on except for when I sleep at night. Luckily I get alerts.
I know video baby monitors are pricey, especially the good ones. I am a huge fan of baby-children surveillance. Let me tell you why…
Reassurance || It goes without saying that the biggest bonus is the ability to see your baby. The peace of mind that my video monitor brings me is more than the worth the money. It lets me check on here throughout the day during naps and at night without attempting to wake her by going in the room. It gives you the freedom to check in with your baby/child without fear of waking or disturbing. It also helps eliminate the dangers of potential safety hazards by alerting you when the child stirs etc. A video monitor also helps you when sleep training your child to distinguish the cries and judge whether or not he/she is safe. I also use our monitor to keep an eye on our older child, Keatyn. I feel like it has helped with my anxiety tremendously. She has a tendency to sneak out of her bed and now I get the notifications when she gets up. She also behaves better knowing I am monitoring her.
How do I know which is the best video monitor to buy?
Well two kids and 6 years later, I feel like quite the expert to be honest. I’ve had 5 monitors at this point. I have tried other video monitors that have a camera you can place beside the bed or take around the house with you. Honestly, not a fan. The sound and picture quality are iffy and they die from weak batteries very early on. I transitioned to the Nanit and it is the best video monitor. My husband read about it and said “we need this.” I love how it is positioned right over Charlie’s bed so I can see the full view. A cable management system is included to keep cords safely away baby’s curious little fingers. I can access it directly from my phone (which clearly I always have nearby) and that gives this paranoid mom so much more peace of mind than you’ll ever know. I don’t stress about going to dinner and leaving the kids because I can check in anytime. The video quality is superb, I can see every detail of her crib.

This is my honest review of this camera. If you’re gonna spend the money on a camera, make this one it. I promise you I have tried multiple ones and I think this is the best video monitor.
