A few years ago our main AC unit went out right in the middle of July when I was 6 months pregnant with Charlie. Brutal was an understatement.
Then in June of this year, our AC unit upstairs went out. As a lot of you know, this summer has been extremely hot and humid. So I dealt with a lot of sleepless nights worrying about Charlie since her bedroom is upstairs. Her baby monitor kept blaring at me that the temperature was too hot, which is enough to stress any mom out.
After a few weeks of only having fans everywhere upstairs to keep it cool, my friend Kelly suggested Hiller HVAC. I researched the Nashville location and sent out an email.
I spent a lot of time talking to Nick through email learning everything I needed to know about installation day and what would happen during the process. I have to say he is one of the nicest and most educated people I’ve communicated with through a company.
When installation day came, I received a text notifying me what their time of arrival was, along with who would be showing up and a picture of the employee arriving. As a woman and a mother, this really stood out to me. There are so many scary stories out there about handymen not being the person who was supposed to work on your house and things turning bad. It comforted me so much to know exactly who I should be looking for once they arrive. Plus it shows me the level of comfortability Hiller HVAC is trying to achieve with their customers so you know exactly who will be at your home. The other part I liked about this text was that it wasn’t some crazy window of time like 12-4 pm. They were very precise and detailed with the time they would arrive which is ideal for a busy working mom.
Thomas, the project manager, arrived right on time along with the two men who would be installing our new unit. He showed me on a tablet exactly what was being installed, as well as telling me the process of the installation. After Thomas got everyone on the same page, he left. Then the other two guys got to work. It took them approximately 8-9 hours to take out the old unit upstairs, replace it with the new one, replace the main one outside, and set everything up. Throughout that time both men were extremely kind and knew exactly what they were doing. If at any time I had questions, they were happy to help. I can truly say I’ve never worked with such a friendly group of people from one company. Every single one of them were so helpful, educated, kind, communicative, and ready to get the job done. Very professional. Hiller HVAC workmen were very thorough and wanted me to be educated on what was going on at all times. They also were great with my crazy dog and that’s always a plus.
One super nice thing about the new unit upstairs was that its thermostat is a part of the NEST product line, which we also use for monitors in the girls’ rooms. So now not only can we check the monitors through the NEST app, we can easily change the temperature right from the palm of our hands without having to go upstairs. A great feature about the NEST thermostat is that it has an automatic energy saver timer. After 2 hours, it automatically turns off to preserve energy as opposed to having the AC on 24/7 and making our bills sky high. (My husband’s favorite part)
Overall, Hiller HVAC is one of the best in the HVAC business and I am so glad that’s who we chose to do our new AC unit installation with. If only I had known about them when Keatyn’s bathroom flooded a couple months ago! Not only do we love our new unit and love feeling cool in this crazy hot summer heat, but I feel better knowing I picked a great company that I can trust and feel safe with. Safety is one of the biggest things I care about and I felt completely safe during installation and NOW feel safer knowing we have this great new unit that was properly installed. You definitely should check them out for your home needs.
