Hello my girls! This one is for you. For all of you out there celebrating Valentine’s Day with your GIRLS. The proud Bitter Betty’s. We’ve all been there. We respect the hell out of you! You’re a strong independent woman and may I raise a toast with this recipe to celebrate YOU! I call this the Galentine’s Day Cocktail: The Bitter Betty Recipe.
Galentine’s Day has been around since the beginning of time. We may not have always had a name for it, but it’s always been a thing. Girls have been standing in girls corners since the beginning of time! With the way the world is now, it is super important for us to stick together. From what I’ve heard, the dating scene is rough these days. Especially here in Nashville! Everyone is either single and has been for years and they don’t want to seriously date anyone OR everyone has been together since high school and they are already married with kids straight after college. Nashville is a weird town. It is a super fun place to be single, but not a great place if you don’t see your life as staying single…
I know what you’re thinking. How the heck would I know. Believe it or not, I have friends around Nashville and in different states that are dealing with dating problems left and right. SHOCKER right? Everyone does! I think Galentine’s Day is the perfect opportunity to step back and realize, men don’t really make the world go ’round. Women do. Now, I love my husband to death and I would hate to live this life without him. It simply wouldn’t be the same! He is most certainly my rock and the best father/husband out there. However, let’s just keep it simple. Women don’t need men. We want them. And that’s okay. We should celebrate that we have the ability to be strong, independent, and beautiful in every single way on our own! Women are to be celebrated every day, not just on Galentine’s Day, Mother’s Day, Anniversaries, etc. Whether you’re single, married, it’s complicated, anti-dating, I don’t care. Galentine’s is an excuse to celebrate WOMEN! And I think we should all join in regardless.
With all that being said, me calling this cocktail the “Bitter Betty” is obviously a joke. You have to state when things are a joke nowadays I hear… Betty is a bad ass, independent, strong, beautiful, worthy, loving, feminine, goddess woman! So go enjoy a delicious cocktail with your girlfriends, BETTY! Enjoy all of the wonderful things that you are and know that you deserve to be celebrated. Now and always.
