Drinks: Kentucky Derby Mint Julep Recipe

Hi everyone! Today I’m sharing my Drinks: Kentucky Derby Mint Julep Recipe! If you’re looking for a super refreshing, delicious, and flavorful cocktail – this is going to be your new go-to cocktail for this spring/summer season. Keep reading to see how I made it and what makes it so fresh!

This perfect weekender drink will have you craving warm spring/summer nights in no time. BTW – daylight savings hello? Last night the sun set at like 7pm and it made me so happy to see. GOODBYE seasonal depression. See ya NEVER. No, but really. Now that it’s mid April, spring really is here y’all. If you live in TN, the forecast looks aaaaamazing the rest of this week/weekend. We’ve had a ton of rain lately which has been frustrating, but expected for April. However, this weekend is pure sunshine, high 70’s-low 80’s and Momma is going to be in heaven.

What’s that TikTok video that’s like “I swear I just stepped outside and the sun whispered in my ear to get drunk”… that may or may not be this weekend. Don’t mom shame me. The kids will have a nice refreshing mocktail going too. Mid-April also means that the Kentucky Derby is coming up! We are huge fans of the Derby in this fam. We love having derby parties when we can and usually go to our own Steeplechase event every year when we can! When I think of a Mint Julep, I just feel like I should have a big derby hat on, my pastels, and be ready to bet on a horse okay. That’s why this cocktail is derby inspired. Check out the ingredients and how to make BELOW:
