Little by little we are redoing each of the rooms in our short sale fixer upper house. If you saw my post last week showing my theater room makeover you’ll already know I’m now a HUGE vinyl floor fan. Tarkett luxury vinyl flooring knows the way to my home renovating heart. Saving me money but looking like a rockstar. Without further ado, I also decided to put it in Charlie’s nursery. I plan on redecorating this room & turning it into a toddler room soon too so I needed it to be versatile. I love how it turned out as you can see from the above before and after. There was just always something missing about her room and it always felt so cluttered. Originally, I decided when we opted for vinyl plank flooring to do the bathroom and man/theater room but last-minute had a change of heart since we were so behind on our bathroom renovations. Our contractor advised to do flooring at the end and I just couldn’t wait to get these floors in so I’ll go back and revisit the bathroom when the time comes. (The great thing about Tarkett luxury vinyl flooring is it’s SO durable, it even works perfectly in bathrooms)
So then I couldn’t decide what room I wanted to tackle and was going between my bedroom and Charlie’s. Her room has always been cute but it just felt so cluttered and busy like the theater room and now I know why. Unfortunately carpet can really take away from the beauty of a room. The only option would be a cream carpet but then there’s foot traffic and I just couldn’t handle a dirty looking floor. Plus all the dirt accumulated grosses me out. We chose a salt and pepper color when we put carpet down in certain rooms. It was frieze cut which is the high quality carpet but it just made the carpet the focal point of the rom and took attention away from her nursery details.
After we had the carpet pulled up in the room (which was honestly the hardest part) we had the flooring installed all in the same day plus the theater room. Our installer said it was so easy to install and it was already padded so we didn’t need an underlay. ProGen’s luxury vinyl flooring also doesn’t warp or bend when exposed to crazy temperatures or sunlight. My hardwood scratches so easy and the furniture hasn’t even put a dent in our new flooring. It’s perfect for high traffic areas but also doesn’t feel as hard as wood. It definitely stands the test of time.
ProGen luxury vinyl flooring comes in 22 different colors. We used the color Spice Bark Hickory in her room because I like the dimension of the light and dark colors. We are using this same color in our guest room. I mean can you see how amazing this floor turned out. I fully intend on doing Keatyn’s room and the hallway when we can fit it in our budget. If you are like us and looking for some updates on a budget but still have your home look high quality I would definitely recommend ProGen luxury vinyl flooring. I am SO pleased with it. I can’t stop going in the rooms and just staring.
