No it’s not Michael Myers, it’s me y’all! Haha. I must admit when I first saw the boiler suit fashion and trend hit the scene full force, I wasn’t sure I was into it. It looked like painter overalls. However after some research on different looks, I determined it was pretty brilliant and effortlessly trendy if styled correctly. Most jumpsuits / boiler suits come with the appeal of being dressy and this look specifically is trendy simply because it’s casual and effortless. Throw it on with sneakers or pair it with high heels.
Here are a few tings to keep in mind while styling the boiler suit fashion:
- Pay attention to body types. I’m petite and short waisted so I have to focus on where the top part hits to not make me look dumpy. An elastic waist is also perfect for those looking for different sizing on top and bottom.
- Jazz it up with accessories like belts, scarfs or a fun hat. It’s a good way to add some color to the outfit or edge it up.
- Dress it up with high heels and a fun clutch.
- Sex it up and leave the top few buttons undone to add some vavavoom to the outfit.
- Add a turtleneck or long sleeve tee to transition to winter.
Here are some of my favorite boiler suits below. They are perfect for fall but also spring and winter. Add some booties like my Jessie Decker cute ones above and you’re ready to go.
