Y’all know this southern girl from the country has plenty of tricks up her sleeves. Ok maybe not too many but I do have a few courtesy of my grandmothers. A Ball® mason jar is a southern staple and mainly because they are so functional for daily use. I love that they have grown in popularity over the past few years. There are so many things you can use them for, I’m pretty sure we have over 20 in our home on hand.
I had the pleasure of attending a really fun event last week with Domino and Ball® along with all my favorite bloggers. It’s so fun to learn all of the different ways you can use a Ball® mason jar. Here are a few of my faves…
Ball® Mason Jar Uses
- Makeup Brush Holder || Since there are so many sizes of mason jars, they are perfect to store all different types of makeup brushes. I store my face brushes and eye shadow brushes etc. in multiple mason jars for a cute vintage take on makeup holders.
- Events/Party Decor || We used Ball® mason jars all around our venue at our Rustic Glam wedding. We used them as candle holders, arranged flowers in them and spray painted them gold with glitter for display.
- Overnight Oats || ( 1 Ball® mason jar with lid., ½ cup rolled oats (½ cup = about half the jar), 1 cup milk (eg. soy milk, almond milk), 2 tbsp nuts and/or seeds., 1 tsp cinnamon or vanilla extract, 1-2 tsp your favorite sweetener.
- Food Storage || We store all types of dry food and candy in our Ball® mason jars. They are practical and cute for pantry or counter storage.
- Vase || A cute twist to keep your flowers stored on the counter or table that your sweetheart brings you home.
- Drinking cup || This is my favorite use for my Ball® mason jar… drinking my sweet tea.
- Canning || My mama used to do this nonstop. Canning is a great way to preserve food for up to 1-5 years. You can find some resourceful information on canning how to’s and the perfect Ball® mason jars for your canning needs.
- Meal Prep || This is a brilliant idea for food prep, especially salads. Put the dressings on bottom, meat and veggies in the middle and the lettuce on top to keep it from getting soggy. You can use your Ball® mason jars for so many recipes.
- Window Planters || Plant your favorite flowers with this DIY.
- Rustic Decor || ie. soap holder, salt shaker, mason jar lights, you can pretty much find endless options on Pinterest to use Ball® mason jars as decor.
- Snow Globe || My oldest is obsessed with snow globes so she was so excited when she got to make her own at school this year. Such a fun craft with kiddos or the DIYer. Find inspiration here.
