Why Everyone Is Obsessed with the K-Rib Recipe
I had to see what the hype was all about when I came across the K-Rib recipe from @knorr. And WOW — this sandwich delivers. It’s smoky, tangy, a little sweet, and honestly easier than you’d think to pull off.
I grabbed everything at Walmart, used Knorr Granulated Bouillon for that extra flavor boost, and ended up with a homemade sandwich that puts the drive-thru version to shame.

Ingredients for the Viral K-Rib Recipe
BBQ Sauce
- 1 cup packed dark brown sugar
- 1 cup no-salt-added tomato ketchup
- 3 tbsp molasses
- ¼ cup apple cider vinegar
- 2 tsp Knorr® Granulated Chicken Bouillon (or paste)
- 1 tsp ground black pepper
Ribs
- 1 lb lean ground pork
- ¼ cup cornstarch
- 3 tbsp ice water
- 2 tsp Knorr® Granulated Beef Bouillon (or paste)
- Four 6-inch soft hoagie rolls, toasted
- 8 pickle slices
- ½ cup sliced white onion
Step-by-Step Directions
Step 1: Make the BBQ Sauce
Whisk together brown sugar, ketchup, molasses, apple cider vinegar, 2 tsp Knorr Bouillon, and black pepper in a medium pot. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat, whisking often. Reduce heat and simmer until thickened, about 10 minutes.
Step 2: Prep the Pork “Ribs”
In a mixing bowl, combine ground pork, cornstarch, ice water, and the remaining 2 tsp Knorr Bouillon. Divide into 4 equal portions. On a sheet of foil, press each portion into a rectangle about 7 x 3 inches. Cover with plastic wrap, then use the handle of a wooden spoon to press lines across the surface so they resemble rib meat.
Step 3: Cook the Patties
Heat a large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat. Carefully lift patties from the foil and cook 5–6 minutes per side until browned and fully cooked.
Step 4: Sauce Them Up
Brush both sides of the patties with about ¾ cup of the BBQ sauce you made. Save the rest for dipping or another recipe.
Step 5: Build the Sandwich
Place patties on the toasted roll bottoms. Top with pickle slices and onions, then finish with the roll tops. Serve with extra sauce on the side.
Tips for Making the Best K-Rib Recipe
- Use lean pork for a lighter version of the K-Rib recipe, but don’t skip the Bouillon — it’s the flavor bomb.
- The BBQ sauce can be made a day ahead to save time.
- Toast the rolls lightly so they can hold up to all the saucy goodness.
- Double the recipe if you’re feeding a crowd.
