Holiday season is the most magical but also the most stressful time of the year. Everyone feels so much pressure to buy the perfect presents, especially for your kids and significant other. Unless you’re a genius and have planned for this all year, it can make a major hit to your bank account. I read an article stating this year’s holiday spending is expected to top last year’s spending by 3-4%. That’s pretty extravagant considering last year’s average amount spent on holiday gifts in America was more than $900!! Wow. I sure don’t have almost a grand to spend, do you? If you are one of those people who likes to drop a lot of dough for your Christmas presents I’m jotting down some recommendations to replenish that cash you’re spending. Here are 7 quick ways to make money:
Sell your old phones with TradeMore! It’s easy and you can do it within minutes from your computer or mobile phone in three simple steps. Make sure the phone is deactivated. First off find your device on the site and let them know what condition your phone is in to get a quote. TradeMore will then ship you the materials and a prepaid label. Clean out your phone and place in envelope with label and mail it off. Simple as that. Once TradeMore receives the device, they’ll email you a virtual prepaid MasterCard debit card for the value of the quote. A few things about how TradeMore calculates their payouts: First they identify the make and model of your device to give the most competitive offer. Sell your clothes at a consignment store. There are so many options to do this. I sell my kids and my clothes on a separate Instagram page, on Facebook marketplace, and any local consignment store. The holiday season is the best time for this because everyone is so busy, who doesn’t need help right now? You can also do things a normal assistant would like running errands, gift wrapping etc.
Rent your home. Now is your time to act on all the holiday travel this time of year by using one of the multiple home share through a companies. You can rent out a room in your house or an apartment or even your whole house and make money with your home. Especially if you live in destination cities (like Nashville) that people travel to often.
Pet sitting. This is a goldmine. Pet owners love their animals like children but they aren’t always welcome when visiting the family. My dad personally doesn’t want our juggle in his house so we always have to make arrangements for her while traveling. Pet sitting is ideal because it’s not much more expensive that boarding but you can rest assured knowing your fur baby is cared for. Also keeping the animals at your home or the owner’s home is way more calming for their anxiety than a boarding facility. If you are an animal lover this is a great situation for you to earn some extra cash. Some people just ask that you stop by their house to check on their cat, fish etc and feed them.
Driving service. Also an ideal job is driving people to and from events in busier metropolitan areas. My husband and I always use Uber or Lyft when going to events or the airports to avoid parking dilemmas and drinking and driving. The cool thing about this job is you can turn it off and on when it’s convenient for you. You only have to log a minimum amount of hours and it pays great.
