Keep reading to see more 🙂
You may be asking yourself, how are vision boards effective in making actual changes in my day to day life? Well, there are quite a few psychological aspects that go into this, but it’s pretty simple once you understand how the brain processes the things around you. Vision boards are used by thousands of individuals all over the world! People who are frequent in using them actually keep them updated all the time. Some may create new ones monthly, even daily on a smaller scale. The simple purpose of creating a vision board is that it gives you a tool to assist with clarifying, concentrating, and maintaining focus on specific goals that you may have! A vision board can also be effective for understanding what you want and helping you navigate how to get there.
I think you can incorporate a vision board in your life in many different ways. You don’t only have to do one for yourself. I believe creating a vision board as a family can be extremely helpful in understanding the different relationships, goals, and intentions within each person around the house! This can be especially effective when you have children as it helps them better understand how to put their goals into action. It can be very difficult for kids to set goals as they usually have a hard time understanding the things that need to be put into place to get them there! Let’s say one of your kids has a goal that they want to be a professional dancer when they grow up. Well, a vision board could help them better recognize the short term goals that need to be in place to help get them there. On a shorter time scale, let’s say your child wants to learn how to ride a bike by the end of the season. A vision board could also be very useful in showing them a visual path that they can reference any time on how to get there!
For the parents, this is an amazing tool to help guide your kids! Positive reinforcement and helping them to really understand why we all do the things that we do is SO important. I will admit, it’s not always easy to make time for these things. But that’s what New Years resolutions are all about! Let’s make a point this year to take the time with our kids. It will be so worth it in the end, and in the moment I bet it will turn your whole day around seeing the smile on their faces!
Here are some of the Creative Vision Board Ideas that we integrated below:
- Inspirational Quotes – You can cut these out of magazines, use stickers or just draw them out. I used stickers and picked out the ones that really spoke to me and each of my categories. Sharing quotes is a great way to get in the right mindset to express your ideas.
- Intentions & Goals – I mean this is the main part right? What are your intentions for the year. Put it out there, no matter how big or small. We are what we visualize each day, I’m a firm believer in that. Set your intentions for the year and look at it each day and you can achieve it!
- Inspo Photos – A lot of us are visual people so looking at that photo helps motivate us. Think of how many people tape an old photo of themselves when they are trying to get back in shape. You know if you look at it each day then it will inspire you to work towards that goal. Cut out your favorite photos from magazines or print them off the computer.
- Specific Categories – I’m a list maker y’all so I had to section it off or I would have anxiety. I had to list my goals for my family, my career, my mental state, my marriage all separately so I could really detail each category a little better.
- Words – Remember what your momma told you growing up? Words are impactful and meaningful. They can help us feel good and inspired when used correctly.
Now lets get to manifesting our best year yet. I loved getting the girls and my sister involved to really set our intentions for the year and help them practice positive mindset. I truly feel you are in control and your mind is so powerful in achieving what you dream 🙂
