Tennessee Novembers are ridiculous weather wise. It’s winter in the morning, summer by noon, and back to winter in the evening. Seriously it can go from like 35 degrees to 70 by mid-day. So what the heck are you supposed to wear in this kind of weather? Well, thank the fashion Gods for making sweater dresses a thing.
Where did they really originate? I’m trying to think of the first time that I wore a “sweater dress” and I’m pretty sure it was just an over-sized sweater that barely passed as a dress. So much so that ya girl had to wear spandex underneath because it was probably too short. I think that’s why we were all so excited when we actually started seeing sweater dresses in stores. Like they weren’t just a made up thing anymore. This was fortunate for all of us because they were actually long enough to be a dress and not feel like you may have a booty cheek slip out at any moment.
With all of that being said, you can usually find a category to shop almost anywhere now during the cooler months for a sweater dress! I love a good sweater dress for a lot of reasons but I love that you can accessorize them! I love sweater dress looks with knee high or ankle boots. A wide brim hat. A leather jacket.
