Hi everyone! Today I’m sharing my 10 Cell Phone Charm Ideas! This truly makes for the perfect summer accessory and I just can’t get enough of them.
Is everyone just obsessed with these Y2K trends?! I don’t know how we’re managing to rock these trends better than we did the first time around, but here we are. It’s just more tasteful now. In the true early 2000’s, there were a lot of us that still had some questionable hair and makeup looks going on. Now it’s like, we get the cool Y2K fashion, without the ugly hair and makeup trends. It’s just better now. Rocking Y2K fashion as a grown adult is a challenge that we’re all willing to accept, we just need a little guidance.
We’ve seen this trend spread like wildfire among the Gen Z’s, a generation that was too young to truly embrace the original fashion. For those who don’t know what Y2K fashion is, here are some details that might help. Y2K fashion is all about being louder and making a bigger statement. It reaches from late 90’s to early 2000’s. Us Millennials are attracted to this fashion trend particularly because it captures the vibe of our teen shopping years. Per usual, we were most definitely heavily influenced by this trend from many pop icons at the time (& still are). For example: Christina Aguilera, Missy Elliot, Britney Spears, Paris Hilton, Elle Woods from Legally Blonde, and well, you get the picture. Think hot pink EVERYTHING. Bedazzled. Tiny bags. Juicy Couture. Denim on denim.
We’ve seen this look in modern day culture from music icons such as Bella Hadid, Saweetie, Rico Nasty, and more. Not to mention every character on the show Euphoria (so dreamy). I am obsessed with this fashion trend y’all, and I hope it’s here to stay for a while. I’m going to have to do another post strictly on Y2K fashion because there is just too much to unpack here.
With all that being said, an amazing way to incorporate this new Y2K fashion trend is with accessories! You may be thinking, oh my gosh that phone charm looks familiar. You may have had one back in the day attached to your hot pink Razor flip phone, but you may have also seen it with the one and only Alexis on Schitt’s Creek.
By the way, if you have not seen this show, RUN and go watch it please. There are so many fun, colorful, and trendy options for cell phone charm ideas! I have 10 put together below that make for the perfect summer accessory, but you could also make your own. If you head to Michael’s you can pretty much get all the supplies you need to customize one of your own or make them for your friends!
I hope you all enjoyed this little Y2K fashion lesson and that you love the cell phone charm ideas! I look forward to hearing your thoughts and can’t wait to see which ones you all love the most 🙂 let me know in the comments below!
